What Is Rose Gold?
Rose gold is genuine gold alloyed with metals including copper to create its characteristic pink-to-rose colour.
Pure 24-carat gold is too soft for most everyday jewellery, so gold used for engagement and wedding rings is combined with other metals to improve its workability and wear resistance. Copper contributes much of the warm colour associated with rose gold.
Unlike white gold, rose gold does not require rhodium plating to create its colour. The warm tone is inherent in the alloy itself.

The carat designation describes the proportion of pure gold contained within the alloy:

- 14kt rose gold contains approximately 58.5% pure gold
- 18kt rose gold contains 75% pure gold
The remaining proportion consists of other metals that give the alloy its colour and physical characteristics.
9kt Rose Gold
9kt rose gold contains a lower proportion of pure gold and a larger proportion of alloying metals. It provides an accessible way to choose genuine rose gold and can be particularly useful where price, design or everyday wear are important considerations.
10kt Rose Gold
