Ring Resizing requires skill to open the base of the ring and make a size adjustment. To make a ring larger, we create a new section using Gold or Platinum to match the existing band and insert this new section of precious metal into the cut-out. Resizing up is slightly more expensive as we pass on the cost of this extra Gold or Platinum. Resizing the ring down requires the same saw line opening, but we then solder it closed – usually, a fine line is required to size down. Once sized up or down, the ring is polished, and the setting is checked as the claws can flex open with the new circumference. Ring resizing is complex to complete correctly, and to ensure a quality job; Polished Diamonds can complete this for you. Resize down - no precious metal required.
Ring Resizing requires the base of the ring to be opened and either a new piece of Gold or Platinum added to make the ring bigger or soldered back to make the ring smaller. The diamond or gemstone is also checked to ensure it is secure in the setting. Ring resizing is a complex task; we are best qualified to complete this. Allow a minimum of $100 for a basic resize and slightly more if additional Gold or Platinum is required. Allow 5-10 business days and sometimes quicker by arrangement.
