Polished Diamonds – New Zealand Jewellery, Crafted for a Lifetime
Some jewellery marks a moment. The best jewellery becomes part of your story.
At Polished Diamonds, we believe something as meaningful as an engagement ring, wedding ring or piece of fine jewellery deserves to be created with equal meaning behind it. That is why we design and make our jewellery here in New Zealand.
From the first conversation and initial design through to CAD modelling, craftsmanship, setting, finishing and final inspection, our focus is on creating jewellery with exceptional attention to detail — jewellery designed for the person who will wear it and crafted to last for generations.
We are proudly New Zealand-owned, New Zealand-based and part of the FernMark Licence Programme, New Zealand’s official country-of-origin accreditation.
For us, being a New Zealand jeweller is more than an address. It influences how we design, how we manufacture and how we look after our customers.

A New Zealand Jewellery Story
The roots of Polished Diamonds Jewellery Design reach back to 1969 and a traditional jewellery workshop. In 2003, our founder purchased the company and began transforming it into a technology-led jewellery design business, combining emerging digital design tools with traditional craftsmanship.
At the time, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) was beginning to transform fine jewellery. Intricate ring designs could now be developed digitally with exceptional control over proportions, gemstone placement, setting details and overall balance. Rapid prototyping and 3D printing further advanced the process, allowing highly accurate models to be created before a piece was crafted in precious metals such as platinum and gold.
Polished Diamonds embraced and helped develop this approach, placing advanced design technology at the heart of our jewellery creation process. It gave our designers greater freedom to refine every detail and create jewellery around the individual rather than relying on predetermined designs.
Technology, however, is only part of the story. Traditional craftsmanship remains fundamental to every piece we create. In our dedicated New Zealand jewellery workshop, experienced jewellers work alongside CAD, 3D printing and modern manufacturing technology to produce diamond rings, engagement rings, wedding rings and fine jewellery for clients throughout New Zealand and around the world.
The idea behind Polished Diamonds has remained remarkably simple: “Give people greater freedom to create jewellery that is truly their own.”
Today, that combination of advanced technology, skilled New Zealand craftsmanship, exceptional service and personalised design defines Polished Diamonds.

Proud to Carry the New Zealand FernMark
We are proud that Polished Diamonds has been accepted into the New Zealand FernMark Licence Programme.
The FernMark is New Zealand’s official country-of-origin accreditation and provides independent recognition of a business’s authentic connection with Aotearoa New Zealand. For our customers, it represents something we have believed for many years: Where something is made matters.
New Zealand has an international reputation for ingenuity, integrity, care, human rights and doing things exceptionally well. Those are values we want reflected in every piece of jewellery carrying the Polished Diamonds name. When you see the FernMark alongside Polished Diamonds, you know you are choosing a jewellery company with a genuine New Zealand story.
Designed in New Zealand. Made in New Zealand.
There is something special about knowing where your jewellery was made. At Polished Diamonds, our jewellery isn’t simply ordered from an overseas catalogue and delivered through a shopfront. We make it here.
Our dedicated New Zealand jewellery workshop brings together jewellery designers, CAD technology, specialist equipment and skilled craftspeople who turn an idea into a finished piece of jewellery. Keeping our manufacturing in New Zealand gives us direct control over the details that matter — proportion, setting, finish, structural integrity and final quality. It also allows us to remain involved with the jewellery long after it has been created. If your ring needs resizing, servicing, polishing, restoration or alteration in the future, you are dealing with the same jewellery business that understands how it was designed and made. That is an important distinction.
Polished Diamonds is not simply a jewellery retailer. We are a full-service New Zealand jewellery design and manufacturing business.
Modern Technology. Traditional Craftsmanship.
Great jewellery requires both imagination and precision. Our designers use advanced CAD jewellery technology to develop detailed digital models before production begins. This allows dimensions, gemstone sizes, setting styles and proportions to be considered carefully before precious metal is committed to the design.
For custom jewellery, it also allows you to become part of the process. You can see your ring taking shape, explore design ideas and refine details before it reaches the workshop. Technology gives us precision. Our craftspeople give the jewellery its character.
Setting, finishing, polishing and the final details still depend on experienced hands, careful judgement and an uncompromising eye for quality.
It is this combination of modern jewellery technology and traditional craftsmanship that defines Polished Diamonds.
Jewellery Should Be Personal
Buying jewellery – particularly an engagement ring can sometimes feel complicated. There are diamonds, gemstones, precious metals, carat weights, grading reports, ring styles and countless opinions about what you are supposed to choose. We prefer a different approach.
Our job is to give you the knowledge and options you need to make a confident decision. Whether you have already imagined every detail of your ring or have absolutely no idea where to begin, our team can guide you through the possibilities without pressure. Natural diamond or lab-grown diamond. Platinum or gold. Classic solitaire or something completely bespoke.
Simple or intricate. Traditional or unexpected. There isn’t one perfect ring for everyone.
There is simply the ring that is right for you.
Jewellery Made to Last
We don’t believe our responsibility ends when you leave the studio with a jewellery box. Fine jewellery is intended to be worn.
It becomes part of engagements, weddings, anniversaries, celebrations and everyday life. Eventually, some pieces become heirlooms and carry one generation’s story into the next. That is why the jewellery we create is supported by our lifetime manufacturing guarantee.
It is also why our NZ workshop provides ongoing jewellery services, including resizing, servicing, polishing, repairs and restoration.
We want the jewellery we make today to still be telling its story many years from now.
