The amount of CAD work required depends on your jewellery design’s complexity.

CAD Design – $150

Includes approximately 2–4 hours of professional CAD jewellery design work and one design alteration. These CAD designs are generally suited to jewellery with straightforward forms, settings and gemstone layouts.

Complex CAD Design – $250

Includes approximately 4–8 hours of professional CAD jewellery design work and one design alteration. Complex designs may include intricate gemstone arrangements, detailed galleries, engraving, unusual shapes, multiple components or more technically demanding construction.

The design hours above refer to the CAD design work involved, not the customer turnaround time.

Once you have reviewed your CAD design, one alteration is included so that details such as proportions, dimensions, gemstone placement or setting style can be refined. If substantial additional design work is required, our team will discuss this with you before proceeding.

How Our Custom Jewellery Design Process Works

1. Share Your Idea

Start with as much or as little information as you have. You might send us photographs, drawings, inspiration images or simply describe the jewellery you would like to create. Our designers will discuss the concept with you and help determine the most suitable materials, gemstones and construction.

2. Choose Your CAD Design Service

We assess the complexity of your concept and determine whether it requires our Standard or Complex CAD Design service. You will know the design cost before the CAD work begins.

3. Your Jewellery Is Designed in CAD

Our designers create a detailed three-dimensional model of your jewellery using professional jewellery CAD software. When gemstones are involved, we can incorporate their dimensions into the model so stone placement and proportions are considered accurately.

4. Review Your Design

We provide CAD images showing your jewellery before it is manufactured. This allows you to review important details such as overall proportions, setting height, gemstone positioning, widths, profiles and design features.

5. Make Your Included Design Alteration

Both our Standard and Complex CAD services include one design alteration. If you would like something adjusted after reviewing the initial design, we can refine the model before final approval.

6. Approve Your Jewellery for Manufacture

Once you are happy with the final design, the jewellery can move into production through our dedicated New Zealand jewellery workshop.
Depending on the design, we may also create a three-dimensional model or production pattern before casting and manufacture.
Our jewellery team then finishes, polishes, and, where required, hand-sets your jewellery.

A complex design generally requires substantially more CAD modelling because of intricate shapes, multiple gemstones, detailed settings, unusual geometry or multiple jewellery components. We will confirm whether your design is Standard or Complex before starting.

Both our Standard and Complex CAD design services include one design alteration. You can discuss additional significant design changes with your designer if needed.

Do I need to know exactly what I want?
