The ideal fit can also depend on how you intend to wear your bracelet.
For everyday wear, we generally recommend a slightly closer fit because it reduces unnecessary movement. If you prefer a relaxed jewellery style or mainly wear your bracelet for special occasions, you may prefer a little more movement around the wrist.
How to Measure Your Wrist for a Tennis Bracelet
You can measure your wrist at home using a flexible tape measure.
Wrap the tape around the part of your wrist where you normally wear a bracelet, without pulling it tightly. Record the measurement in centimetres.
If you do not have a flexible tape, wrap a piece of string or paper around your wrist, mark where the ends meet and measure it against a ruler.
As a starting point, add approximately 1.25–2.5 cm (½–1 inch) to your wrist measurement depending on how closely you want the bracelet to fit.
For example, if your wrist measures 16.5 cm, a bracelet around 18 cm may provide a comfortable fit. The width and construction of the bracelet can also influence how it feels, so trying it on remains the best option where possible.

Should a Tennis Bracelet Be Tight or Loose?
Neither extreme is ideal.
Too tight: The bracelet may pinch, leave marks or feel uncomfortable when your wrist moves.
Too loose: The bracelet can slide excessively, rotate around the wrist, catch on clothing or come into unnecessary contact with other jewellery.
Just right: The bracelet drapes naturally around your wrist with a small amount of movement while remaining secure.
Your wrist shape can make a difference too. Someone with a flatter wrist may prefer a slightly closer fit than someone with a rounder wrist.
What If You Wear a Tennis Bracelet with a Watch?
If you plan to wear your bracelet beside a watch, avoid an excessively loose fit. Constant contact between the bracelet, diamonds and watch case can create unnecessary wear.
The two pieces should sit comfortably alongside one another without repeatedly riding over each other.

Why the Clasp Is Just as Important as the Fit
A diamond tennis bracelet contains many individual settings and moving links, so security is particularly important.
Check that the main clasp closes positively and that any additional safety catch is properly engaged before wearing the bracelet.
