CAD Design – $150

Includes approximately 2–4 hours of professional CAD jewellery design and one design alteration.

Ideal for many custom wedding rings, including classic bands, shaped and fitted wedding rings, diamond-set bands and designs with relatively straightforward construction.

Complex CAD Design – $200

Includes approximately 4–8 hours of professional CAD jewellery design and one design alteration.

Complex CAD may be required for intricate shaping, detailed engraving, unusual profiles, multiple design elements, complex diamond or gemstone layouts or technically demanding construction.

The hours refer to the CAD design work, not the overall jewellery manufacturing time.

Design Your Own Custom Wedding Ring

Your wedding ring does not need to come from a standard catalogue.

Start with one of our existing women’s wedding rings or men’s wedding rings, bring us a photograph or sketch, use your engagement ring as the starting point, or begin with a completely new idea.

Our jewellery designers can develop:

Laser Scanned to Fit Your Engagement Ring

One of the biggest advantages of designing your wedding ring with Polished Diamonds is that we can work from the actual engagement ring your wedding band needs to fit beside.

Bring your engagement ring into one of our New Zealand design studios and, where required, we can measure and laser scan it to capture its dimensions and profile.

Our jewellery designer can incorporate this information into the CAD model of your new wedding ring, allowing us to consider:

• the curve around the engagement ring
• clearance beneath or around the setting
• the width and depth of both bands
• diamond positioning
• the side profile
• spacing between the two rings
• how the complete bridal set looks together

This is particularly useful for halo, trilogy, low-set and individually designed engagement rings where a standard straight wedding band may not sit correctly.

The result is a custom-fitted wedding ring designed around your engagement ring, rather than selecting a generic curved band and hoping the two fit together.

See Your Wedding Ring Before It Is Made

Once the design direction is agreed, our jewellery designer creates a precise three-dimensional CAD model of your wedding ring.

You receive detailed CAD images so you can review the shape, proportions and design details before production begins.

Both CAD options include one design alteration, allowing an agreed design detail or proportion to be refined before you approve the final design.

Once approved, the wedding ring can move into manufacture.

Custom Wedding Rings Made in New Zealand

Once your design is approved, your wedding ring is produced through our dedicated New Zealand jewellery workshop.

Keeping the design and manufacturing process within our New Zealand business allows our designers and goldsmiths to work closely through CAD, manufacture, stone setting, finishing and final quality control.

Most custom jewellery can be completed in approximately 1–2 weeks after design approval, depending on complexity and material availability.

Yes. Diamonds and coloured gemstones can be incorporated into the design, with their size, spacing and position planned during the CAD process.
